There is also a growing arts and culture sector including local art galleries, recording studios and independent film production.

Hamilton is home to many parks along the picturesque Niagara Escarpment, which runs from Tobermory at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula in the north, to Queenston at the Niagara River in the south. The hiking path Bruce Trail runs the length of the escarpment. The Bruce Trail is the oldest and longest marked hiking trail in Canada. Hamilton is also home to more than 100 beautiful waterfalls and cascades.

There are many lovely attractions in Hamilton. It’s home to McMaster University, one of the most renowned schools in the world. In addition, Hamilton is the location of the stately and historic 19th century Dundurn Castle, which offers guided tours. If you’re a nature lover, you can visit the scenic Royal Botanical Gardens. For sports fans, the city is represented by the Tiger-Cats in the Canadian Football League. The Canadian Football Hall of Fame is also located in Hamilton.

Hamilton has a rich history. Other local attractions include the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, which features a complete collection of aircraft flown by the Canadian military from World War II to the present. You could also explore HMCS Haida, Canada’s most famous warship and the world’s last surviving Tribal class destroyer.

Families love African Lion Safari, where over 1000 exotic animals roam freely through 300 hectares of game reserves. Hamilton also boasts one of the most impressive collections of art in Canada at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, which contains over 10 000 works. The Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology is another National Historic Site of Canada that can be found in Hamilton. This museum houses two 70-ton steam-powered water pumping engines, possibly the oldest surviving Canadian-built engines.
